What Services Does ShelfGenie Provide?
We’re a customized kitchen cabinet franchise and so much more, helping clients transform their homes and age in place
ShelfGenie is known to many as a kitchen cabinet franchise that provides customized storage solutions to clients, but we offer so much more. Our Glide-Out shelving has been installed in hundreds of thousands of cabinets in kitchens, pantries, bathrooms and garages since ShelfGenie began franchising in 2007.
The demand for our shelving solutions has remained constant since we launched our franchising initiative. Our customized storage solutions have struck a chord with the growing number of homeowners who want to reduce the stress associated with clutter and find joy in their homes again.
Demand for services
Our kitchen cabinet franchise provides services that are particularly sought after by a demographic that finds it vitally important to have everything within reach. The realities of the aging process necessitate the need for a more accessible home for the wide majority of the 76.4 million Baby Boomers who want to age in place. The University of Vermont reports that the use of walking aids such as canes, wheelchairs and scooters “has increased by 50 percent in the past decade, according to a new study, and should continue to increase as the number of seniors is expected to double by 2050.”
Our storage solutions franchise not only makes homes more accessible homes for seniors, it makes them more enjoyable, too.
ShelfGenie’s Glide-Out shelves are made from beautiful natural wood that is durable and affordable. Designed to move in and out easily with just the touch of a finger, they are strong enough to hold up to 100 pounds.
How we transform spaces
ShelfGenie’s Business Support Center fields calls and emails from interested clients and sets up free consultation appointments with their closest available local franchisee.
At the consultation, a ShelfGenie-trained designer will spend two to four hours assessing the client’s space. We evaluate which areas a client uses most, how often they’re used and what solutions will work best for that client.
“We look at the logical flow of things and design a custom solution,” says Harper. “We work with our clients to come up with ideas together. Then we do 3-D renderings to show the client.”
Some of our most popular storage solutions include pull-out trash bins, blind corner solutions and two-tiered pull-out shelves called risers, which fit under sinks and around drain pipes. Our clients are grateful for solutions that put needed items in easy-to-reach places.
After designers and clients come up with the exact solutions to fit a client’s needs, skilled installers visit the client’s home or business to measure the space down to the millimeter to ensure that all spaces are maximized and that shelving and bins will fit perfectly.
“We want to make sure it is beautiful,” says Harper. “We are not just building wood boxes with rails. They are unique and personal. A lot of care goes into them.”
It takes four to six weeks for the custom shelving systems to be manufactured and then installed. After a job is completed, our Business Support Center contacts the client to make sure everything was done to their satisfaction. ShelfGenie representatives periodically check back with clients to see how the solutions are working.
That detailed client approach sets us apart from competitors — even larger ones, says Allan Young, CEO of ShelfGenie.
“Our experience starts with our beautiful, creative campaigns,” Young says. “Our talented agents delight our prospective clients with their professionalism. Then we go in with a designer and create a custom solution, which takes frustration and pain and turns that into enjoyment and love. Our installer measures, and then we build and install shelving and storage solutions efficiently and effectively.
“Our competitors don’t do what we do.”
